Is Java dying?
Apr 2010. James Gosling announces he's leaving Oracle. As the designer of Java, it's unclear what this means for Java's future. Especially since presumably the control and future of Java still lies with Oracle (as it did with Sun) and not the community.
Jun 2010. Zinger from Oracle. Oracle beginning to charge licensing for Java, particularly for versions with crucial bug fixes (in this case, TLS renegotiation). Fragmentation of the platform—beginning of the end for Java?
